Tips to Transform your Space.

Incorporating Colour

Infusing current trending colours into your kitchen is a strategic art form, crucial for creating an on-trend kitchen that stands the test of time. Given that kitchens often take centre stage in home renovations, the colour choices made in their design should be carefully considered. For instance, if your kitchen enjoys ample natural light, incorporating a bold, feature colour becomes an effective method to impart personality and warmth to the space without being too overpowering.

Kitchen Island

Designate the kitchen island as a focal point and introduce a bold, trending colour. This not only adds vibrancy but also keeps the overall space from being overwhelmed by the impactful hue. Stuck on which colour to choose for your kitchen? Check out On-Trend Kitchen Colours 2024 for inspiration.

Bold Hardware

Bold Hardware: Infuse contemporary colours and finishes through cabinet hardware. Choose bold, modern handles or knobs to create a focal point without overwhelming the entire cabinetry.

Appliance Accents

If open to experimentation, consider introducing colour through kitchen appliances. This can be especially effective if the rest of the kitchen maintains a more neutral palette.

Artistic Elements

Incorporate trending colours through artistic elements such as decorative dishes, utensils, or artwork. These accents add flair without dominating the entire space and can easily be changed up whenever you please.

Creating a timeless yet on-trend kitchen involves a delicate balance. Whether you draw inspiration from nature, contemporary palettes, or classic neutrals, the key is to integrate colours thoughtfully. It’s best to limit impactful colours to specific focal points. This ensures a harmonious blend of modern and traditional elements, resulting in a cohesive and enduring design.

Smart Cabinetry

Modern Palette

While white remains a timeless choice for kitchen cabinets, those looking to break away from convention may find comfort in embracing colour. Opt for hues that transcend decades, such as rich earthy tones and dark blues, avoiding excessive use for a balanced effect.

Timber, black or navy, alongside timeless grey stone surfaces, offer a sophisticated palette. Alternatively, consider muted earthy tones for a subtle yet modern touch. Door profiles such as shaker style can introduce a traditional element to create a perfect fusion of classic and contemporary elements.

Quick and Easy Bircher Muesli:
The Perfect Prep For Busy Mornings

Bircher Muesli

Explore the ultimate time-saving breakfast solution with Bircher muesli – a Swiss-inspired dish bursting with oats, fruits, nuts, and yoghurt. Ideal for busy autumn mornings, this hearty meal delivers convenience without sacrificing nutrition. The simple prep of Bircher muesli will save you loads of time in the morning! Add a delicious and invigorating beginning to crisp autumn days.

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 cup yoghurt
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Fresh fruits (e.g., berries, banana, apple)
  • Nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts) for topping
  • Cinnamon

  1. In a bowl, combine the rolled oats and milk. If you like a creamier texture, you can also add yoghurt at this stage.
  2. If you prefer a sweeter muesli, drizzle honey or maple syrup over the mixture and add a pinch of cinnamon for flavour.
  3. Stir everything together until well combined.
  4. Cover the bowl with a lid or cling wrap and place it in the fridge.
  5. Allow the muesli to soak for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best results. This will soften the oats and allow the flavours to meld together.
  6. Before serving, add your choice of fresh fruits and nuts for extra texture and flavour.

Enjoy your bircher muesli for a healthy and delicious breakfast! Feel free to customise your soaked muesli with different toppings and sweeteners to suit your taste.
