Client Brief | Our customer wanted a modern kitchen renovation in Sylvania. She was happy with the layout and function of her existing kitchen, but wanted to update the design and tired old finishes.
The original kitchen was created by an interior designer in the 90’s. Although it was quite impressive for its time, it was definitely in need of a refreshing update.

To achieve a more contemporary style, the kitchen island was transformed to allow for a more useable eating area and prep space. This was done by converting the curved bench top and cabinetry into a modern, straight edge design.
Families today are spending more time socializing and eating in the kitchen so it’s important to get the kitchen island shape and dimensions just right.
The fridge was located in the far corner of the room, away from the hub of the kitchen. The team decided to reposition the fridge, closer to the sink and cooking areas for a more functional design. It was also fitted into new cabinetry that matched in colour for a seamless and aesthetically pleasing finish.

The customer sourced her own white sink which we installed. White sinks give an uplifting and uniform look, especially when paired with lighter stone bench tops, like our Hydra White stone Fireclay and cast iron materials are a popular choice due to their durability.
Our solid and functional WELS mixer tap with handy pull out vegetable spray makes washing up a breeze.
An integrated dishwasher within the kitchen island further demonstrates continuity of design and colour. Yes, they are more expensive, but integrating the large appliances will give your kitchen that customized, high-end appeal.

Our interior designer, Grace, also consulted with the client in her own home in Sylvania. When selecting finishes, Grace carefully considers the client’s taste as well as the style of the rest of the home. It’s important that all rooms come together to tell a cohesive story. Based on this home’s personal style, Grace assisted the client in choosing textures and colours she loved. Grace even sourced handles which the client had seen previously on a TV reno show.
