Spotlight on a Jannali Kitchen Makeover
Client Brief | Our customer wanted a modern kitchen renovation in Jannali. She was happy with the layout and function of her existing kitchen, but wanted to update the design, the tired old finishes and bring in some more natural light. The original kitchen was in need of a refreshing makeover with its outdated beige colour scheme, appliances and hardware.

German Anchique, one of our certified kitchen designers, assessed the existing kitchen and it was agreed that a brand new kitchen was not necessary. The internal cabinetry was still in good shape which meant that the best way to effectively transform this space was with a Kitchen Makeover.

Kitchen Makeover Process
For the benchtop and splashback, our client selected Stardust stone from the classic range – a popular bright white surface with fine ebony and slate speckling. Our experienced craftsmen then carefully measured the existing benchtop and the new benchtop was handcrafted for an exact fit and bonded to the existing benchtop.
As the pioneers of stone resurfacing, we combine the world’s finest granites, quartz and polymer technology to create a brilliantly stone surface that’s only 6.5mm thick and is ideal for a range of applications including:
• kitchen splashbacks and kickplates
BENCHTOP RESURFACED
A standout benefit of our resurfacing solution is the option to go straight over tiles. The old tiles definitely had to go but with our stone, there was no need to go through the costly and messy process of removing the tiles.
We were able to bond the Stardust stone directly to the existing tiled surface, just like the benchtop, and the result is a fresh, modern and grout free finish – a breeze to clean.
SPLASHBACK RESURFACED
The old beige kitchen doors, panels and drawer fronts were replaced with our Minimal-1 Series doors in a Vivid White Super Matt finish. The dated door knobs were upgraded to chrome kitchen door handles. All our doors are installed with your choice of quality handles and soft-close hinges. Push-open hinges are another option for our handleless doors.
DOORS REPLACED
To achieve a more contemporary style, an island waterfall was added to the end of the breakfast bar. This is a trend that we continue to see time and time again. A waterfall edge showcases your stone selection as a work of art.
Families today are spending more time socializing and eating in the kitchen so it’s important to get the kitchen island shape, dimensions and aesthetic just right.
The white appliances were upgraded to a modern, stainless steel finish. These included a new fridge, dishwasher, sink, ceramic cooktop, and contemporary square mixer. The stacked wall oven, grill and microwave were already in the best location. It was just a matter of reducing the gap surrounding the microvave for a more seamless finish. The fixed white rangehood was also replaced with a concealed rangehood to keep in line with the modern design.
